Bistrot and Temporary Bar
Florence, ITA, 2009/10
The Odeon Bistrot is part of an extensive restyling of the historic Cinema Odeon in Florence, a project by Marcello Piacentini. The modern convivial space was created in the vaulted spaces of the side foyer of the cinema, achieving a discreet and elegant environment; all materials and colors establish a refined reference to the original 1920’s style, echoing the rich art-deco decorations of the vaste hall.
The Temporary Bar was added to the Bistrot on the occasion of the “50 Days of International Cinema in Florence” Festival: a light and sustainable architecture is harmoniously inserted in one of the most beautiful squares in Florence. With a completely demountable structure, corten iron and oak wood slats alternate with mirrors that blend the structure in the reflection of the square. The setting up of the interior is entirely made with stage furniture, coming from the deposits of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.
