KIVELANRANTA, FINLANDIA - contest - 2006 The high quality view is the deciding factor in the design choices; the central block, housing commercial space, apartments and parking lot, is looking towards the lake with enhanced exposure. The structure of the complex undergoes a process of thickening/expansion according to the borders of the site and its environmental issues: private space is established in the back of the apartment, and faces the open common space. The constructive elements speak a natural language: vegetable rug coverings, a facade in recycled wood, large printed glass, that allow the green residential spaces to be the continuation of the natural green. |
